The possibilities of electric flying in the future is an important subject that requires attention now. In this short project, a feasibility study of an electric aircraft will be done.
What we offerWe expect the candidate to be open-minded, creative, able to conduct high-quality research, with good communication skills and be able to work in a team with other PhD students, staff and students.
The candidate is expected to develop a simulation framework to assess and optimize mission performances and contribute to the development of a viable mission demonstrator as part of a wider team.
A large part of the research will consist of the conceptual design of a full-electric 90-person passenger aircraft. The key performance indicators of this aircraft in terms of weight, energy consumption and flight performance are to be computed and presented.
Where will you workAt the TU Delft. The project will be carried out within the Aerodynamics, Wind Energy, Flight Performance and Propulsion (AWEP) department of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
